*New* EMBELLISHED CANVAS GICLÉES
'I never appreciated how different angles would shimmer and change as the light moves over it. Beyond delighted Blythe...I feel very privileged to own this...Thank you for making this such a wonderfully positive experience from start to finish.'
Are you in love with the individuality and surface intrigue of original art but it is a little beyond you reach for now? If so, I have a high quality and exciting alternative for you to consider!
For many years, I have wanted to offer a product that is more affordable than an original but unlike an ordinary print, offers beautiful texture. I've been working hard on a hybrid of a digital image and an original painting and I'm now delighted to offer them to order. While nothing will ever replace an original, I am satisfied that this product is the very closest I can offer and I believe that clients will hang them with pride.
The process begins with my printer capturing an ultra detailed image of my painting which has a resolution almost twenty times higher than I would be able to take with my own digital camera. The image is then printed to an archival standard onto canvas and stretched. They are always on a different scale to the original and are ready to hang. The canvases are then taken to my studio to be treated to a huge amount of embellishment and to be transformed into unique artworks which could easily be mistaken for originals. No two are the same and each one is an adventure to create.
It is important to realise that not all embellished giclées are equal. At their most basic, some are created on factory production lines and may only receive a minimal coating of clear textured gel to mimic brushstrokes. At the other extreme, the digital print is a mere starting point for my embellished creations. They are layered with all the same processes that my originals are such as impasto palette knife work, textured materials and metal leaf before being varnished. A huge amount of time is invested in each distinct painting and they are very much of my hand. Each artwork is signed back and front, numbered and titled by me.
Only images from this gallery are available in this format although I may well add to the collection in the future if there is demand. They will be strictly limited to a run of 50 per image (plus artist proofs). They are exclusively available for order here and are created to order.
