This Edinburgh themed 'Hootenanny' style nightscape was commissioned by a couple in the UK who had just completed a huge home renovation. It was designed to create a focal point and some drama in their stairwell. Being full of almost triadic colour, high contrast, mixed media texture and silver leaf, it was intended that the painting should both read strongly from a distance and offer interest close up as people used the stairs.
